Our Northern Michigan Off Grid cottage is used as a weekend retreat. It has a Hybrid Power System consisting of PV Modules with Generator Backup. Our energy efficient 110 volt AC appliance provide us and family members with all the comforts we are accustomed to with Utility Grid Power but at only a fraction of the energy usage. Large appliances are propane powered (i.e. refrigerator). The heat source is a 30-watt pellet stove as the primary heat with through the wall propane heaters as backup. Hot water for showering is from a 6 gallon RV propane heater. Water conserving devices help us extend our water supply from our 30 gallon holding tank. Many of our appliances are 12volt DC powered such as the Pellet stove and water pump.
